| I. General |

1. The Field Army has to be supplied with everything that is
necessary for the maintenance of its efficiency and has to be freed of
everything which could diminish its usefulness.
Everything which serves
this purpose will be comprised by the term, “Supply of the Army.”
2. The supply of the army is a part of the waging of war. It can
decisively influence its progress in general and in individual instances. Its
